Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the antibacterial effect of Camellia sinensis (green tea) on Streptococcus mutans (ATCC 25175) and Streptococcus sanguinis (ATCC10556). Materials and Methods: The methanolic extract of green tea (commercial and bulk) was examined on Streptococcus mutans (ATCC 25175) and Streptococcus sanguinis (ATCC10556), using the well assay method. A total of 24 plates for the first extract (Commercial) and the same amount for the extract No. 2 (Bulk) were used and were divided into groups of 12 disks for each bacterium, with a total of 4 disks per group.
