Power and Politics provides an overview of the theoretical approaches to the connection between power and politics as applied to k-16 education at both the macro and micro levels. Through readings and discussions, we will explore the ways in which power, politics, and policy influence key issues in the k-12 and higher education contexts at the federal, state, and local levels. A major focus of this course will be the intersection of race, class and gender with power and politics in educational leadership.
