A síndrome HELLP ocorre em gestantes ou puérperas e é caracterizada pelo surgimento de hemólise, elevação de enzimas hepáticas e plaquetopenia. Desenvolve-se em aproximadamente 10% das gestantes com pré-eclampsia, sendo mais freqüente entre a 22ª e a 36ª semana de gestação. Insuficiência renal aguda é uma complicação freqüente e grave nessas pacientes. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar, em pacientes com síndrome HELLP, a prevalência de insuficiência renal aguda e estudar fatores a ela associados.
