A general relativistic fluid formulation has been obtained by Siambis. The set of relativistic fluid equations includes a general equation of state. The use of these equations, however, is hampered by the presence of additional fluid variables resulting from relativistic corrections. The systematic expansion and associated nice variables introduced by Newcomb, have been utilized in the formulation of Siambis to yield a compact set of relativistic fluid equations which is the relativistic generalization of the well-known non-relativistic set of fluid equations.
