Activities are reported concerning programs to obtain thermal stress- fatigue data on various types of stainless steels under conditions that may be encountered in reactor operation, and to separate the effects of various environmental and metallurgical variables. Work during the period was devoted to procurement and check-out of equipment, and to preliminary test work on specimens of type 304-L tubes and bar stock. (J.R.D.
