Two-particle correlations in proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions were measured with beams of 800 MeV/A at the Berkeley Bevalac to study the reaction mechanism in more detail. Results were obtained that give information about the mean free path of protons in the nucleus, the contribution of the single-knock-out process in the collisions between equal-size nuclei, and the nuclear shadowing effect in collisions with a heavy target nucleus. 3 figures.
