We use Hartree-Slater self-consistent-field wave functions to compute photoionization and photorecombination cross sections and rates for partially ionized iron atoms, both in their isolated state and in a plasma environnment. The calculated cross sections are fitted to analytic expressions so that the photoionization and recombination rates can be given in closed forms. Our analytic representation satisfy the requirement that the oscillator-strength sums S/sub 0/, S/sub 1/, and S/sub 2/ must converge
