This report deals with the properties of relative turbulence intensities, turbulent spectra and frequency distributions over uniform and complex terrain. As to intensities of turbulence, the report concentrates on properties of sigma/sub u//u/sub */, sigma/sub v//u/sub */, sigma/sub w//u/sub */, where the sigma's are the standard deviations of the longitudinal, transverse and vertical velocity components, respectively, and u/sub */ is the friction velocity. Given these ratios, relative turbulent intensities (such as sigma/sub u//U, where U is the wind speed) can be obtained with the standard wind profile formulae.
