The goal of this unit is to get students to think about the purpose and importance of logical thinking and reasoning. This unit is designed with the intention of helpings students apply reasoning to mathematical concepts as well as other areas of their lives. Specifically, this unit will have students discover the value of inductive and deductive reasoning, conditional statements, counterexamples, and proofs. By the end of the unit, students will be able to use their knowledge to create a valid argument for the actions of a fairy tale character and to use their argument in a mock trial. Many supplemental materials were collected and adapted from teachers in North East ISD and Spring Branch ISD
