A review is presented of the knowledge of point defects in pure metals. Data are tabulated for vacancies and divacancies in fcc metals, and for defects in bcc metals. Production of Frenkel defects by irradiation is also discussed; data are tabulated for both fcc and bcc metals. Questions that need answering are posed. (16 references). (DLC
