A study of individual mass-transfer resistances in liquid-liquid extraction and the effects on these of such variables as flow rate is presented. A partially miscible system was used in the determination of individual film mass- transfer resistances in a pulsed column and to investigate the effect of pulsed column variables, such as pulse frequency, pulse amplitude, and flow rates, on the individual resistances.
