Many applications in cosmology and astrophysics at millimeter wavelengths — CMB polarization, studies of galaxy clusters using the Sunyaev-Zeldovich effect, studies of star formation at high redshift and in our local universe and our galaxy— require large-format arrays of millimeter-wave detectors.
