Purpose: To determine the stem cell properties of human corneal stromal keratocytes when challenged in the chick embryonic environment. Methods: Stromal keratocytes isolated from human corneas were injected along cranial neural crest migratory pathways and in the periocular mesenchyme in chick embryos.
