Thesis (M.S.)--Boston University, 1972.Bibliography: leaves 47-51.A number of adhesive systems for the direct bonding of orthodontic attachments to teeth have been reported in the last five years. The purpose of this investigation was to evaluate, clinically, a new bonding system which appears to have apparent advantages over previous techniques. In this study, 552 plastic brackets were directly bonded to conditioned enamel surfaces in 59 different patients over a seven month period. The results showed a 92.2 percent success ratio. Although seven months is not enough time to completely evaluate the system, it appears to have greater stability and durability than previous techniques in the actual treatment of malocclusions.
