Documents 15 interviews with military personnel at Abu Ghraib pruson. Most persons interviewed said they had no awareness of abuse or misconduct. Descriptions of abuse: one detainee was "stripped naked, kept naked in his cell and subjected to sleep deprivation" and "roughed up by the hands of American personnel who interviewed him" (DOJFBI 1805). Another detainee said he saw a detainee "spread eagle on a mattress on the floor and yelling and flailing. The military personnel advised SA [redacted] the detainee was mentally ill;" another detainee "either naked or wearing boxer shorts, lying prone on the wet floor;" and a handcuffed detainee with an "empty nylon sand bag" placed over his head, draped in a shower curtain and "being subjected to sleep deprivation."
