In this dissertation, wave propagation, dispersion characteristics and radiation in a gyrotropic medium are analyzed. The study of far field radiation from a two-layered uniaxially anisotropic medium is also included. First, the dispersion relations for gyrotropic medium are derived in a new form, from which the wave numbers for two types of waves are obtained. Then, the resonance and cut off conditions are solved for the principal waves in an electrically gyrotropic or gyroelectric medium such as cold plasma. A Clemmow-Mually-Allis (CMA) diagram is then constructed based on the resonance and cut off conditions to provide the regions in which the wave can propagate.
