Educational pedagogy has evolved from an instructor-led teaching style to that of an active student learning environment. Student response systems (SRS) have been introduced as a teaching tool to increase student participation and engagement in many classrooms; however, there is a lack of research to determine its efficacy especially within a nursing student population. A descriptive research study that reviewed survey data from 688 undergraduate students (Graham, 2007) was duplicated with a nursing focus using the same survey tool. The survey assessed the students\u27 perception of participation, preparedness, engagement, and value of the SRS technology within the classroom.
