Research was conducted by the Economics Department at SDSU in conjunction with the Water Resources Institute and the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development to determine perceptions of the extent of the impacts of rural water systems in selected regions of the state. Aspects of the re search were embodied in two studies. As part of a case study of the Brookings- Deuel Rural Water System (BDRWS), a random sample of area residents and public officials was personally interviewed.
