College admissions counselors are experiencing a new trend as the Millennial Generation is enrolling in universities nationwide. Parents now have a strong influence and input in their child’s college admissions process. This paper identifies the effects, both positive and negative, that students have experienced based on this latest trend. Studies have shown that the Millennial Generation is the most overprotected generation in history (LeMoyne & Buchanan, 2011).
