This research examines the intersection of Irish myth and history, as well as the effects such intersections may have on the construction of Irish identity. It proposes that such intersections have indeed had a considerable effect on Irish identity, specifically through the ways in which myth and history are co-constructed and similarly framed in narrative. Finally, it concludes that this effect is important because of the further insight it might provide into understanding Irish culture and society, as well as the opportunity it provides for similar analysis of the myth, history, and identity of other cultures
