The organization of lithic technology and its relationship to mobility and resource procurement contributes to the understanding of hunter-gatherer lifeways. In this study, lithic or stone tool requirements, raw material availability, and procurement strategies are all considered. The study area is located in Pahrump Valley, which lies within the southern Nevada portion of the Mojave Desert. Potential pathways from the Bowman Site to Eureka Quartzite sources are studied to determine their use by prehistoric hunter-gatherers while procuring Eureka Quartzite.
