The purpose of this study was to determine if the enrichment and supplementing of creative activities relating to and incorporated in spelling lessons would bring about greater achievement in spelling than the traditional method of only stressing skills and principles. Practical application of combining the creative activities and the traditional method of spelling was used in the fourth-year classroom. The null hypothesis tested was that there was no statistical difference between the achievement made by pupils in the experimental group who received spelling instruction and creative activities to supplement the instruction and the control group who received a traditional spelling program
