The purpose of this study was to take one definable personality pattern, open and closed mindedness, and to see if this dimension is reflected in ordinal birth position, specifically first- and later-born. The literature reviewed in this study appears to describe the first-born very much like Rokeach (1960) describes his closed-minded person. Further, the description of the later-born is very much in line with Rokeach\u27s description of the open-minded person
