Scope and Method of Study: The creation and maintenance of interest in the subject is one of the major problems confronting high school mathematics teachers. It is the purpose of this report to explain how a mathematics club may be used to increase student interest and also act as an aid in improving the teacher student relationship. The purpose of high school mathematics clubs, their history, organization, and activities are described. Suggested topics for programs and sources of mathematical material to be used are also given.Findings and Conclusions: The sponsorship of a high school mathematics club is a worthwhile activity which any mathematics teacher should be willing to undertake.
