In recent years, UAS (unmanned aerial systems) have gained improved functionality by integrating advanced cameras, sensors, and hardware systems; however, UAS still lack effective means to detect and record audio signals. This is partially due to the physical scale of hardware and complexity of that hardware�s integration into UAS. The current study is part of a larger research effort to integrate a high-gain parabolic microphone into a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) for use in acoustic surveying.
