This quilt was started three years as an experimental design with two sets of fat quarters (precut 18” x 21” fabrics) and left as an unfinished project until this year. Rust colored fabric with a metallic gold pumpkin design and a muted mustard leaf design were the inspiration for this quilt. It was created with sixteen blocks. Each block had sixteen squares. The blocks were quilted individually and finished by the Quilt As You Go (QAYG) method. The four large (24” blocks) were sewn together to complete the quilt top. After the four blocks were joined together with sashing strips, the Ohio Star quilt pattern was created.
