This interview was conducted as part of the New Jersey Historical Commission Grant-funded Multi-Ethnic Oral History Project. The interviewee is Mrs. Nguyen Truong Phuong Chi, a Vietnamese American, who came to the United States as a Vietnamese Refugee in 1975. The interview details how her and her family left Vietnam and how they were sponsored by a chuch organization in New Jersey. Mrs. Chi also discusses the difficulty in adjusting from a comfortable lifestyle in Vietnam to working numerous jobs to support her family in New Jersey. She also discusses her relationships with Americans and how they have helped her in the United States
