The State of New Jersey Environmental Priortites and Action Plan

This document outlines the policy priorities of the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and initiatives that are planned and underway to address those priorities. The nature of the outlined initiatives is very diverse, ranging from regulatory and legislative efforts to management, outreach and education, and program coordination efforts. Aspects covered in this report include: proper stewardship of natural and historic resources, leading the nation in reducing air pollutants that affect the health of New Jerseyians, ensuring an abundant supply of clean drinking water and reducing the possibility of drought, encouraging sustainable development, preventing pollutant threats to public health, coordinating improvements in environmental protection, and ensuring efficiency in a positive work environment for DEP employees.Purpose: Outlining NJDEP priority policies and initiatives for 2007
