New Jersey 1986 State Water Quality Inventory Report: A Report on the Status of Water Quality in New Jersey Pursuant to the New Jersey Water Pollution Control Act and Section 305(b) of the Federal Clean Water Act

The New Jersey 1986 State Water Quality Inventory Report is the seventh in a series of State Water Quality Inventory Reports that have been prepared by the N.J. Department of Environmental Protection since 1975. The report addresses the following issues: the quality of the State's surface waters; an analysis of the extent to which surface waters will attain the fish propagation and maintenance swimmable goals of the Clean Water Act; the determination of changes throughout the State; a description of water pollution sources that are adversely affecting water quality; and, what actions are necessary to improve water quality in the State's waters so that clean water goals are achieved and the estimated costs of such actions.Purpose: To assess current water quality conditions in the State's major rivers, lakes, estuaries, ocean waters, and ground water
