Low Water Gardening Coloring Book: Cape May, Cape May County, New Jersey

This coloring book is designed to acquaint children with some of the concepts fundamental to gardening under low water conditions. These concepts have their base in two fields, ecology and horticulture. The coloring book features plants that can flourish under natural conditions, without a lot of supplemental water. Use of the coloring book is an opportunity for children to learn about the interaction of the physical and biological environment. The coloring book includes illustrations of wildlife to help children learn more about these particular animals. Cape May is facing a water crisis and conservation of water is critical. The coloring book is one way to help and encourage children to learn science. The coloring book includes a number of activities parents can do with their children to foster learning such as seedling, outdoor water use survey, backyard wildlife survey, etc.Prepared for Cape May City Environmental Commission with a grant from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Office of Environmental Services
