The project's purpose is to identify sensitive geologic areas within Green Township. An awareness of these areas; connection to the future potable water supply is crucial to assure proper planning and protection of the township's groundwater resources. In Green Township, 100% of the residents currently rely on and will continue to rely on groundwater for their water supplies. The Township's two largest aquifers extend for more than 3,000 acres under the township's central limestone valleys.This report was prepared with the aid of a Well Head/Aquifer Protection Grant from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Office of Environmental Services, grant #94-027.
