Interim Wellhead Protection Area Report: Oakland, Bergen County, New Jersey

After recognizing the importance of quality and quantity of water supplies for the Borough of Oakland, the Environmental Commission authorized a preliminary study to define protection areas for each of the well fields. This report contains the results of that study, including a discussion of the NJDEPE methods for Well Head Protection Area (WHPA) delineation and the limitations associated with the data. Results of the preliminary WHPA's for each of the well fields have been plotted on the topographical maps that are included in the report.Prepared with a grant from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Office of Environmental Services, grant #91-061, Project No. G91-033.Purpose: The purpose of this report is to conform with Federal EPA guidelines and to develop a program to protect public water supplies
