Natural Resource Inventory for Long Beach Island Ocean County, New Jersey

This inventory report of Long Beach Island identifies and evaluates the natural resources of this barrier island. The report provides detailed data on climate, beaches, vegetation, wildlife, geology, groundwater, soils, and environmental legislation affecting the Island. It is hoped that the results will be used as a basis for future comprehensive planning and environmental programs designed for the preservation of natural features on the Island.The preparation of this Natural Resource Study was financed in part through a comprehensive planning and management assistance grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, under provisions of Section 701 of the Housing Act of 1954, as amended.Purpose: To collect data on the natural and man-made characteristics of Long Beach Island, Ocean County, New Jersey for use in future planning and development considerations
