Delaware River Biomonitoring Program: Quality Assurance Project Plan

This project plan defines only the benthic macroinvertebrate component of Delaware River Basin Commission's (DRBC) biological monitoring program. These activities, in addition to improved physical and chemical data gathering, should provide a well-rounded view of water quality conditions in the Delaware River, and provide sufficient data for more meaningful management decisions. DRBC intends to gather sufficient physical, chemical, and biological information to: implement Special Protection Waters regulations for the Delware River's upper 120 miles; develop data sufficient to define and implement an anti-degradation level of protection to areas of known high water quality of the Lower Non-Tidal Delaware River; and, develop a Benthic Index of Biological Integrity (B-IBI) for the non-tidal Delaware River.Document Control Number: DRBC QA2003-002 / July 2003Purpose: To report on the water quality assurance project in the lower Delaware River
