Reproduction of painting of mill built by Jacob Prior, which existed from 1760 to 1838. The mill was built on a creek that ran through the marshlands that are now downtown Jersey City. The mill was razed and the creek filled in due to the construction of the railroads; this is symbolic of the changes that reshaped Jersey City in the 19th century. During October, 1910 Jersey City celebrated the 250th Anniversary of its founding as the town of Bergen by the Dutch in 1660. This is one of a series of commemorative postcards, many attributed to "Bergen Camera Exchange", depicting historic scenes and places.Souvenir 250th Anniversary of Berge
