The article is to present the opinion of Adam Jerzy Czartoryski about Napoleon and the Duchy of Warsaw. The article’s attention is focused on the editing of the Prince Adam’s source diaries prepared by Jerzy Skowronek and memorial „Organisation du Duché de Warsovie”. Czartoryski in the era of the Duchy of Warsaw was on the political sidelines. At that time, however, he watched how the small country of great hope was functioning. He analyzed the selection of persons entrusted with important positions. He appreciated the constitution and civil law introduced with it.
