Análisis de las actividades dinámicas y sedentarias entre abuelos y nietos

Por la Ull y UlpgcThe aim of this study has been to know better the type of physical activities, dynamic type and sedentary type, which a group of grandparents and their grandchildren carry out together. In addition, we analyze the relationships between the socio-demographic variables of grandparents and those joint activities. Therefore, 114 grandparents and grandmothers were interviewed, without physical or cognitive limitations, on their interaction with that grandchild or granddaughter with whom they have more personal contact. A questionnaire of dynamic and sedentary activities was chosen between grandparents and grandchildren of Peraza, Puentes and Rodríguez (2017). The data were analyzed with the statistical package SPSS v. 21 and the analyses were parametric type tests (ANOVAs). In the results of the study, it was possible to confirm how the majority of the participants, as a genus, they were grandmothers. About the age, they were people older than 66 years and about the most predominant role, it was the formal role, followed by the informal and the substitute. Also, through the results it can be seen the existing relationship between the roles of grandparent age (formal, informal and substitute) with the pattern of interaction of the four types of activities (External dynamics, External sedentary, Internal dynamics and Internal sedentary). The socio-demographic variables that were analyzed with more emphasis were age and health that were related to the four types of activities, where it turned out that the younger grandparents and those who enjoy good health are the ones who share more activities with their grandchildren. We can conclude that the most frequent activities between this group of grandparents and their grandchildren are sedentary, so it should encourage, as a family intervention, other types of external dynamic activities because these are more beneficial to health of both generations, in the short and long term.El objetivo de este estudio ha sido conocer mejor el tipo de actividades físicas, de tipo dinámico y de tipo sedentario, que llevan a cabo, de manera conjunta, un grupo de abuelos y sus nietos. Además, se analizan las relaciones que hay entre las variables sociodemográficas de los abuelos y esas actividades conjuntas. Para ello se entrevistó a 114 abuelos y abuelas voluntarias, sin limitaciones físicas ni cognitivas, sobre su interacción con aquel nieto o nieta con el que tienen mayor contacto presencial. Se eligió un cuestionario de actividades dinámicas y sedentarias entre abuelos y nietos de Peraza, Puentes y Rodríguez (2017). Los datos fueron analizados con el paquete estadístico SPSS v.21 y los análisis fueron pruebas de tipo paramétrico (ANOVAS). En los resultados del estudio se pudo comprobar como la mayoría de los participantes, en cuanto género, fueron abuelas, en cuanto a la edad eran personas mayores de 66 años y en cuanto al rol más predominante fue el rol formal, seguido del informal y del sustituto. También a través de los resultados se puede observar la relación existente entre los roles de abuelidad (formal, informal y sustituto) con el patrón de interacción de los cuatro tipos de actividades (Dinámica Exterior, Sedentaria Exterior, Dinámica Interior y Sedentaria Interior). Las variables sociodemográficas que se analizaron con más hincapié fueron Edad y Salud que se relacionaron con los cuatro tipos de actividades, donde resultó que los abuelos más jóvenes y los que gozan de buena salud son los que comparten más actividades con sus nietos. Podemos concluir que las actividades más frecuentes entre este grupo de abuelos y sus nietos son sedentarias, por lo cual se debe fomentar, como intervención familiar, otro tipo de actividades externas más dinámicas, dado que estas son mucho más beneficiosas para la salud de ambas generaciones, a corto y a largo plazo
