The aim of this investigation has been to make a comparative survey of the occurrence of mycorrhizas in a number of native plants, with particular reference to the vesicular-arbuscular and Ericaceous types of endotrophic mycorrhizas. The work is divided into Sections, each type of endophyte encountered being dealt with in a single Section, except in the case of the vesicular-arbuscular endophyte, discussion of which has been divided into two separate Sections; the first dealing primarily with the endophyte as it occurs in the Angiosperms, and the second with the endophyte of the nodule-bearing conifers.
