An Analysis of Directing Styles with an Emphasis on the Felten-Start Theatre Productions of Moon Over Buffalo and It Runs in the Family

Two plays were direct at Felten-Start theatre, Moon Over Buffalo and It Runs In the Family to study different leadership styles as they were applied to the directing process. Records of the nightly rehearsals were kept as a reference tool. A major determinant of which leadership style was used depended on the experience level of the group. The less experienced the cast, the more autocratic directing method was needed. More mature and experienced groups retained their focus, which led to a more comfortable setting.
