The purpose of this study is to point out that Cyprus\u27 dependence on the mine industry and British bases is undesirable; therefore, other economic sources must be found and developed. These two sources of revenue are undesirable because they are unstable, temporary, and outside the control of Cyprus\u27 Government. The undesirability of these two sources is demonstrated when the author points out the problems that were created in the 1950\u27s and early 1960\u27s as a result of the fluctuations in revenues from the mine industry and British bases.
