The purpose of this study is to discover the degree to which the concepts and rhetorical strategies which have characterized the Black Power movement since June, 1966, have evolved from the concepts and rhetorical strategies of Marcus Garvey, Elijah Muhammad, and Malcolm X. This will be shown by an analysis of selected speeches, interviews, and writings of these three men, and by further analysis of selected materials representative of the rhetoric of the movement since June, 1966
