A Study of Taiwan Tourism Industry

The writer reviewed Taiwan\u27s tourism situation both past and present and the problems relating to tourism growth and development. An analysis was made of world tourism trends and expenditures and especially travel trends in the Pacific and Southeast Asian countries to provide a basis for Taiwan visitor growth and planning. The marketing objectives and Tourism planning were studied in depth. The key market areas of visitor origin (Japan and the United States) were reviewed and integrated into the marketing objectives and Tourism planning. The tourism industry is a vast complex composed of many component parts: Governmental and private tourism organizations, tour operators and travel agents, the related retail and wholesale service business. They are all inter-related and each has its own particular role to play in servicing the international visitor. It is highly important they work in harmony and coordination with each other to develop the tourism industry in Taiwan
