The problem is a study of economic development of Thailand during the first six-year plan (1961-1966). An attempt is made to answer the following questions: 1. what have been the principle dynamic forces for economic development throughout this period? 2. What have been the obstacles and impediments to such growth? 3. What should be the developmental strategies for future growth? Due to the fact that non-economic factors and historical patterns of economic development are of great importance to a nation\u27s economic development, it is advisable to study some of these aspects.
