The Effects of Temperature Upon a Learning Task Involving the Perception of Time in the Albino Rat

The hypothesis for this experiment is about the ability of rats to learn a task involving time discrimination and delay under two different environmental temperatures, (low and high). Sams (1925), Anderson, (1932) and Kurdoda (1936), have demonstrated the ability of the rat to learn and effectively solve goal box discrimination problems with a time delay. Estimation of pure time intervals has not been reported for rats, although much work has been done using human subjects (Gilliland, 1940, 1946). Much work has also been done on learning under various environmental temperature levels (Hellmer, 1943, and Moore, 1944), but no research has been found which combines the areas of time discrimination, learning and the perception of time. This is what we intend to do
