This critical examination of Thomas Dekker\u27s 1611 play The Roaring Girl scrutinizes the ways in which the central character of Moll Cutpurse defies gender and class ideologies throughout the play. I argue that Moll creates a third space in which gender and class fluidly combine, giving her a unique place as a woman in the play’s London. The Roaring Girl centers around Moll Cutpurse, constructing a unique and nuanced city comedy that is controlled by Moll and her tactics within this third space. Arguably, Moll defines Early Modern London in the ways that she combines aspects of masculinity, femininity, and class divides
