Antiphonal (Feast of St. Nicholas). Single folio on vellum. The Netherlands, ca. 1450: 395 x 289, ten four line staves (16 mm) ruled in black ink. The high-quality vellum has a regular nap, like suede. Decoration: staff-high initials in red and blue, with similarly grand black capitals highlighted in red and decorated with fine penwork in black ink. This manuscript closely resembles in execution the folio of a Dutch Gradual offered in Enchiridion 6 #62.
