This paper examines the long history of marginalization of Native Americans, and argues that this group is the most oppressed people in the U.S. today. Since European colonization, systematic marginalization has pushed Native Americans into the farming/ranching industry with little hope of escape; it was not until the 1980s that the gaming/gambling industry emerged as a new form of commerce for reservations.
