Previous research has shown that context matters when it comes to examining the relationship between gender and the work-family interface. For instance, in a recent cross-cultural study of the work-family interface, Rajadhyaksha (2017) found that in countries with high gender equity, women with more egalitarian gender role attitudes experienced higher positive work-family spillover compared to egalitarian men. By contrast, in countries with low gender equity, women with traditional gender role attitudes experienced higher positive work-family spillover as compared to men with similar attitudes.
