Course syllabus for CJUS 320 Correctional Process Course description: This course will explore the history and evolution of corrections and look at how that has influenced our existing penal systems. It will also evaluate judicial decisions and discuss their effects on the development of a correctional policy; examine the offender as he/she travels through the myriad of paths in our prison system; and finally, will explore existing examples of alternatives to prisons and formulate realistic assumptions about the future of the criminal justice system
