In a unique and invaluable experience, educators from across the nation met at Governors State University in late June to learn, discuss, and explore both the environment and ways to teach students about it. The National Science Foundation Summer Workshop at Governors State University examined new approaches and techniques of teaching science, exciting interest in environmental issues, and increasing funding. Participants also gained hands-on environmental problem-solving experience related to the ecology and water quality of Thorn Creek
